The brand art shown on the landing page has undergone a facelift in just a few weeks.
In preparation for the official launch of this personal branding website to potential employers, the landing page art has gone a step up thanks to #Canva. It is one of a few artworks in this site that are all designed to attract visitor attention and engage potential employers.
A story to be told...
Inspired by #VividSydney, the artwork, set at night, features a multicoloured changing skyline, the usual gradient stickers portraying thunderstorms, earthquake (sound waves) and the moon and hashtags being blown by the tornado (portrayed by arrow stickers)/wind as high as the mountains. Standing on top is the creator's avatar, waving hi to any website traffic that does come by! There is also abstract turquoise dots which portray hail. All of the elements are set under the 'Pop' animation from Canva.
Speaking of Marketing, this artwork is truly a visual metaphor of how the online world continues to emerge today. While the external environment (factors such as Technological, Social, Environmental etc.) land as the forces of nature, brands and customers are portrayed by the changing city. And so the creator standing on the mountain does show 100% proactivity!
Likewise, the multi-coloured city buildings also portray the demographic market segments of Generations Y (millennials) and Z, both of which are tech natives as opposed to previous generations. The city atmosphere and vibes can be a huge advantage to marketers, particularly with the access of the internet, strong brand exposure and large foot traffic (the majority of which are on their smartphones). As each building does come and go and changes colour, it is literally keeping the community vibrant, active and welcome regardless of tribe! And also to keep the positive vibes going thanks to the multicoloured sound waves in the background which also represent trendy music genres such as Electronic Dance Music (EDM).
There are several lessons to be learnt from this art, which are expected from a digital marketer:
1: Be proactive
2: Say YES to opportunities
3: Love your passion
4: Think creatively and outside the box
5: Always be yourself
6: Motivation is key
7: Don't be afraid
8: Use your skills and talents
9: Always come with a plan B to a problem (in relation to the external environment)
10: Positive vibes only
11: And not to mention, have fun!
Relation to personal brand
'Bounce N Drop' Marketing, created by myself, has the brand personality of Excitement (Trending, Contemporary, Creative, Cool) according to appropriate frameworks. This is due to the brand name not only easy to recognise, but powerful for a target audience of Gen Z, especially the daring new employers of today.
The words 'Bounce' and 'Drop' are widely used in Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and its upbeat nature when the 'beat drops in front of a large crowd by a DJ'. This uniquely personifies the extreme forces of nature shown in the artwork, indeed reflecting the brand's cool identity!
Potential uses
This artwork can be seen in the 'Home' and 'About' pages of this site as the primary type. Other potential versions, such as a 'Daytime' one or a musical version, are possible in future pages. Existing static brand art such as the one found in the 'Blog' page may be modified to include animated elements from Canva.
For the mobile version of this site, there may be an edited version of this artwork featuring just the city. This might set a foundation for social media stories and posts being more dynamic and fun for the viewer. As each new page or blog post is developed, no visitor or employer will ever get bored!
Conclusion
The online environment is continuing its rapid evolution, especially with user-generated content. Gone could be the long, chunky paragraphs before the Web in favour of visually appealing landing pages or posts like this one. This artwork represents the visual metaphors for change, creativity and positivity, all of which are important for the changing digital marketer.
